BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing

Our program adopts an approach to learning and teaching which focuses on service users using a recovery approach (a recognized nursing management approach for individuals with a mental health condition) and encourages you to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for safe delivery of effective mental health care. All modules integrate theory and practice elements that contribute to admission to the Professional Register. The development of clinical skills to support physical health is an integral part of the program and is supported in practice by mentors and in the excellent Clinical Skills Laboratories by experienced lecturers.

Employability

Placements are undertaken in a variety of settings, working with a mentor alongside social workers, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team. This will help you experience and prepare for a number of careers within this field. This is a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) approved program for the Future Nurse standards. Students who successfully complete the program may apply for NMC nursing registration.
