This foundation year course will provide you with the skills you need to move onto the BA course. With an industry looking towards the future of textiles, we consider all aspects of theory and design that drive the innovation of textiles such as the political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal climate that will shape our student’s thinking towards being future pioneers of tomorrow’s world. Textiles at UEL seek to go beyond the surface of well-used methods such as print and surface design and encourages our students to look towards the future with new and exciting digital processes and back again at the innovative fabrications of heritage crafts from the past. The course aims to provide you with a rich learning experience in applied textiles, which will focus on highly creative design solutions for fashion, interiors, and the home. You will have the opportunity to embrace fashion and textile futures, new materials, and technical innovations in the production of innovative applied textiles across all mediums.
