Our MEng Civil Engineering degree, validated as a four-year course in 2014, is a fast track to the top of the civil engineering profession. It covers much of the same ground as the BEng qualification, while being additionally equivalent to an MSc degree. Your degree is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators, which is made up of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), and the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE). The Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) have approved an application from the Permanent Way Institution (PWI).

This course offers the opportunity of year-long placement between years two and three. If you choose to take this option, you’ll spend your third year on a placement with a relevant company or organization, adding valuable practical experience to your growing academic knowledge. The extra placement year means it will take five years to complete your studies, instead of four.

- A-LEVELincluding passes at A2 in at least 2 subjects and must include Maths (minimum grade B) and Physics
- Extended Diploma or Diploma in a related subject. Must include distinctions in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics.
- Diploma with 29 points including a minimum of 16 points at Higher Level, must include Maths and Physics at Higher Level
- Overall IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing and Speaking; minimum 5.5 in Reading and Listening (or recognized equivalent).
