Canterbury Christ Church University is one of the modern universities which started its journey as a teacher training college in the 1960s concerning a national shortage of teachers. It was founded by the Church of England and later it was awarded university status in 2005.

In England, Canterbury Christ Church University is also known as missionary university and a maker of public service holder who are interested through nurturing the intrinsic dignity and potential of each individual. This university’s campuses and centers spread out across the Kent and Medway.
